Roy O. Tays

Roy O. Tays of Monroe died Feb 2 at the age of 62.

Mr. Tays was born Feb 2 in Belle Farm, Kentucky, the son of William and Nora (Richardson) Tays. He was married to Bobbie Marie Owens on January 23, 1984 in Erie, Michigan. Mrs. Tays survives her husband.

Mr. Tays was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of South Lyon VFW, Post 2502.. He retired in 1988 after 25 years of employment with Millwright Local 1102.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Allen K. Tays of Nashville, Tenn., Starr Tays of Chattanooga, Tenn., Sheri Tays Simms of South Lyon, and Kimberly L. Rounion of Murphysborough, Tenn.

Also surviving are his stepsons , James Owens, Larry Owens, and Richard Owens, all of Monroe, and Randall Owens of Maybee, Mich.: four granddaughters, 15 step-grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren, also a half sister, Alene Sells of Jamestown, Tenn.

Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at the Earl Little Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial took place in Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, Mich.

Memorial contributions may be made at to the American Cancer Society.
