John Public, whose home is about ten miles north of Linton, passed to the Great Beyond last Friday night after an illness of short duration. He was first taken down with typhoid fever, when other complications set in which caused his death. The deceased was about 50 years of age. He was a good, honest, industrious farmer who enjoyed the respect of all who knew him. Mr. Public came out here about four years ago and bought a half section of land, which he has farmed and made his home upon since. He leaves a wife and seven children, mostly grown up and married. Among them are Mrs. Alva Burge, two married daughters in Chicago, and a young daughter, and three boys at home, John, Joe and Gilbert. He leaves his family in splendid circumstances.
