Adrene was born the daughter of Adrian & Anna Fitzgerald Snider near Revillo, SD. She moved with her family to Iona, MN in 1924 and then to Fulda six months later. Adrene graduated as Valedictorian of Fulda High School in 1930, and then graduated from Mankato Teachers College, and took a position teaching country school. After a couple of years, she decided nursing was to be her career of choice, and enrolled and graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Nursing Program in Rochester, MN, where she received her RN degree. During WWII, Adrene enlisted with the United States Army and became a Second Lieutenant, working as a nurse. She was involved with the American Red Cross Blood Program and was thrilled to take a job with the American Red Cross upon leaving the Army. Adrene worked for the St. Paul Chapter of the Red Cross for many years, retiring in 1975. She enjoyed living in St. Paul's Macalester-Groveland neighborhood and the many friends she made at the Wilder Park Condominiums. Adrene moved back to Fulda in 1998 to live with and take care of her sister, Claire. Adrene entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda in April 2006 and passed away there at the age of 95. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.

Adrene was a fun-loving, bright and beautiful soul. She enjoyed lunching at the Lexington, wearing clothing as colorful as her personality, sharing the twist of a limerick of joke, and was delighted by everything Irish. Adrene was cherished by many and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her, nephew, Stephen (Eileen) Snider of Texas; many close cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Angela Snider and Claire Snider and one brother, William Snider and his wife Agnes.

Funeral services were held from St Gabriel's Catholic Church, Fulda, MN on December 23, 2008 with Fr. Larry Brixius celebrating.
