Ira H. Duffy

Ira H. Duffy was born in Dallas City, Ill., September 22, 1854 (differs from year on stone) and died at 7:30 A.M., July 10, 1925 at his home near Simpson. following a long illness. Mr. Duffy moved to Minneota in 1874. From there he moved to Vermillion, Kan., and came to Mitchell county in 1892.

He was married to Miss Fanny Stackhouse, March 22, 1893, and they have made their home in the Simpson neighborhood. Mr. Duffy was a member of the Masonic lodge and the O.E.S., and a member of the Methodist church.

He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, one brother Frank Duffy of Kansas City; one sister, Mrs. Cora Polle of Los Angeles, Calif.; an aged aunt, Mrs. S.D. Wallace of Vliets, Kan.; and a number of nephews and nieces.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Glasco Methodist church, being conducted by Rev. W.W. Enyeart of Glasco. Burial was made in the Glasco cemetery. The profusion of flowers bore evidence of the sympathy and kindly esteem of many friends. ---- Beloit Gazette
