April 19, 1967 - Humboldt Republican - Funeral services for John B. Strait, 91, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 21, at the Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in the Union cemetery in Humboldt.
Mr Strait, a former resident of Gilmore city, died Tuesday morning at the Good Samaritan Home in Pocahontas, where he had been a resident for the past three years.
Born and educated in Humboldt County, Mr. Strait married Minnie Grimm in 1901. They farmed in the Gilmore City - Rutland area until retiring in 1961 and moving into Rolfe and later to Gilmore City.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Everett of Gilmore City, Dillion of Payton, Abner of Albert City, and Barton of Sun Bernadino, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Mervul Kee of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Lester Gottfried of Fonda, Mrs. Arnold Hansen of Rolfe, and Mrs. Henry Friar of San Bernadino Calif.; 20 children; and 11 great grandchildren.
