SEIKO IWAASA (nee Kinoshita) of Raymond, beloved wife of the late Toru Iwaasa, passed away peacefully at the Raymond Health Centre on Monday, December 3, 2007 at the age of 85 years.

Seiko is survived by her children - David (Jane) of Fukuoka Japan, Glenn (Collette) of Raymond and Alan (Lavinia) of Swift Current, SK; ten grandchildren: Kenneth (Yumi), Tanya (Bob), Amber (Cassidy), Kimberley, Mark (Stacie), Steven (Dawn), Kevin (Jaime), Wendy, Alan Jr., and Toru; and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Kazuo (Toshiko) of Claresholm, and her sister Akiko (Torao-deceased) of Toronto Ontario.

Seiko was born on January 27, 1922 in Langley, B.C., the youngest of three children of Kuichi and Chiyo (nee Ishihara) Kinoshita. Seiko and Toru were married November 26, 1947 in Raymond and laboured diligently together on the grain and cattle farm to raise three boys. Seiko enjoyed working for eighteen years at the Raymond General Hospital as a Nursing Assistant. She was an active volunteer in a number of organizations and strong supporter of family, children and grandchildren, reunions, school functions, and musical and judo activities.

Seiko was a kind and respectful person, loved by her family and believed in working hard. Her greatest desire was for her children to be happy and to succeed by striving to do their best. Seiko's zest for life and talents were shown by her gardening in the spring and summer and doing stain glass in the fall and winter. Seiko enjoyed being with her friends, playing golf, Tai Chi, and traveling.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 13 St. N., Lethbridge on Friday, December 7, between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, Raymond Stake Centre, 2 St. W. and Church Ave., on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Todd Snow officiating.

Flowers and Koden are gratefully declined; donations may be made to the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary as a memorial tribute in Seiko's name.
