Carl was formerly employed with Shield Alloy Metals, in Newfield for several years where he served as a foreman for 15 years and later as a front end loader operator, until his retirement 10 years ago. When he was younger, he and his wife enjoyed motorcycle riding and touring all over the country. He enjoyed gardening and loved being with his family and many friends.
He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his wife, Rose, four sons, Carl M. Durham Jr., of Bridgeton, Lewis Melvin Durham, of Deptford, Brent Durham, of Pittsgrove Township, and Clem Durham Sr., of Bridgeton; one daughter, Darlene A. Quarles, of Carney's Point; and a stepdaughter Priscilla Moore, of Indiana; one brother, [Louis] R. Durham, of Oaklyn, N.J.; and his stepbrother, Charles Durham, of Stow Creek; two sisters, Anna Mae Snyder, of Florida, Francis Diane Carr, of Washington State; and a stepsister, Gloria Jean Land, of Millville; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased besides his mother and father, by one sister, Henrietta Kirby; and a brother, Bruce Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at noon from the Sray-Webster Funeral Home, 62 Landis Ave., Carll's Corner, Upper Deerfield Township. The interment will follow in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Township.
