New Paris - Leonard B Martin, 76, passed on to his eternal reward Monday at his home.

He was born March 17, 1935, to Ezra and Lydia (Bauman) Martin near Nappanee.

On Oct 9, 1955, he was united in marriage with Rhoda Martin, who survives.

He is survived by six children, Keith (Mary Ann) Martin of Sauk Centre, Minn, Marcia (Wayne) Eberly of Goshen, Patricia (Allen) Heatwole of New Paris, Donald (Karen) Martin of Goshen, Mary Beth (Loren) Shaum of Milford and Ernest (Jolene) Martin of Brooten, Minn; 35 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters, Lowell, Clare, Roy and Dean, all of Nappanee, Carl of Goshen, Robert of Snover, Mich, Doris (Lowell) Weaver and Mable (Dale) Martin, both of Goshen, and Nila (Lloyd) Martin of Nappanee.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dana Devon, who died in a farm accident in 1973 at age 5; his parents; and a sister and her husband, Lorene and Jason Ramer.

He accepted Christ as his Savior in his youth and was united with the Wisler Mennonite Church where he remained faithful until his death. He faithfully served the Wisler Mennonite Church as a minister and bishop as long as health permitted.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Ramer Mennonite Youth Center, located on CR 44 between CR 11 and 13 near Nappanee.

A funeral service will begin at 10 am Friday at the Yellow Creek Wisler Mennonite Church, Goshen. Members of the home ministry will officiate.

Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Wisler Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Christian Aid Ministries.
