Frances was the youngest of four daughters born to Elizabeth and Adolph. She grew up in Wyandotte, Kansas. On October, 26, 1893, Frances married Albert Rosel in Kansas City, Missouri. She and Albert settled in Kansas City, Kansas, where their first two children were born.
In 1897 Albert sold his share of their ice and dairy business to Frances' father and they moved to Napa, California, with their two children. There they expanded their family with five more children. They were the parents of Albert Jr., Mabel, Fred, Laura, Frances, Ralph and Raymond. They were divorced when Albert left the family home in 1916.
