Mary Craft Paxton, 84, of 625 N. Alleghany Ave., died, Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the The Woodlands Nursing Home at Clifton Forge.

She was born April 14, 1924 at Craig County, a daughter of the late Emmett W. and Virgin Mary Craft Craft.

Mrs. Paxton was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Little page Bible Class and the Women's Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Parker Mann Paxton in 1997 and also by a sister, Clarice Craft.

Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Lipes and her husband Donnie of Covington; two sons, Greg Paxton and Berkley Paxton and his wife Jo Anne all of Covington; four grandchildren, Christina Manjarres and her husband, Jorge, of Raleigh, NC; Holly Paxton and her fiance' David Clapper of Lynchburg; Travis Lipes and Chad Lipes, both of Covington; one brother, Leo Craft and his wife Grace of Fullerton, CA and a sister-in-law, June Terry of Covington;

The funeral service will be held at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.

Friends may pay their respects anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Saturday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home and at other times will be at the homes of Brenda and Donnie Lipes at 2048 S. Raymond Ave. in Asbury Park or Berkley and JoAnne Paxton at 211Woodlands Road in Valley Ridge.
