Bruno, a mother of four, was murdered in her apartment at 4646 Arden Way,#20 El Monte. She was separated from her husband and children, who lived at 1025 Don Ricardo, Arcadia.

According to reports, Gargiulo lived across the street from Bruno and had previously been stalking her even followed her into her apt. one day, but left when confronted. She shared that story with friends and had described Gargiulo prior to being killed. He had killed several other women in California and a neighbor girl in Chicago where he had previously lived. He was finally caught when he attacked and stabbed another California woman but she fought and survived. According to Wikipedia:
