Nancy Janet Conner was born on August 1, 1932 in DeKalb, MS to William Edward and Alice Stallings Conner. She was the youngest of four children. She was a graduate of DeKalb High School and the Mississippi University for Women. She married Dr. Allison Durfee Reed in 1951 and together they had five children. Her husband was a veterinarian in Mobile area until his death and she was the secretary for the veterinary clinic. She was raised in the DeKalb Methodist Church and became Presbyterian after her marriage, holding membership at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Mobile, AL. Aunt Nancy battled cancer since 2009. She was relieved of her pain and received her eternal reward on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Mobile. She is survived by her children, Dr. Allison Reed Jr., Dr. Timothy Reed, and Jenni Kimbrell, her grandchildren which she adopted, Jennifer Reed and Billy Reed, her other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Allison D. Reed, parents Edward & Alice Conner, daughters Melissa Garrett and Cindy Reneau, sister Helen Claire Price, and brothers John Edward Conner (who lived one day), William Edward "Bill" Conner Jr., and John Coleman Conner. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 12 noon at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Mobile, AL. A private inurnment was held later at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
