Bennis Wolverton McKibben 1924-2012 Biloxi, MS Bennis Wolverton McKibben went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 15, 2012. She joins her mother, father, brother, and all the generations of family waiting for her. She was born on September 12, 1924, to Lou Bell (Ames) and Edwin Alanson Wolverton in Lovell, Wyoming. She spent her childhood years growing up in Wyoming, graduated in 1942 from Manville, WY High School. She and her husband, James Erwin McKibben, married in 1943, and following WWII, lived in WY and CO, and moved to MS in 1964. Jim was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission at the Tatum Salt Dome, Salmon/Sterling Site, in Hattiesburg. After agreement (TTBT) by the USA and the USSR to prohibit underground nuclear testing in 1974, they settled in WA. In 1988 she moved to Biloxi and worked for the Senior Companion Program for 10 years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father (Byron, WY); her brother, Thomas Ames Wolverton and sister-in-law Lita Rose (Humphreys) (Stevensville, MT); and her husband, James Erwin McKibben (Hennessy, OK.) She is survived by her children, Michele "Lou" Flowers (Marvin) of Biloxi, William Lynn McKibben (Viki) of Tacoma, WA, and Mark Erwin McKibben (Sandy) of Arlington, WA; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. A celebration of Granny's life will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Marion Wainwright, her doctor and friend for 22 years, her friend Joan Williams of Senior Companions, and all of the dedicated and caring employees of Hospice Advantage in Biloxi.
