Mr. Gross was retired after 40 years service with the U.S. Merchant Marines.
Born at Karthaus June 18, 1919, he was a son of John Thomas and Lulu (Rider) Gross. He was a Lutheran by faith and a member of Adonirom Highland Lodge 8, Salaam Temple, Livingston, N.J.
He is survived by his wife, Loraine F. (Frantz) Gross of Winter Garden; and these children: Gary A., West Palm Beach, Fla; John T, Hillsboro, N.J.; David L., Winter Beach, Fla; Karen L Bright, New Brunswick, N.J.; Constance Mae Ledder, Baskin Ridge, N.J.; and Sandra Lee, Barbara Ann, Mary Lou and Donna Jean Gross, all of Winter Garden.
Two sisters: Edna Gosline, Denville., N.J. and Erma Gross, Clearfield, also survive as do four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Dennis, and two brothers, Paul and Gerald.
