Henry Clay Everhart Saltville, VA Age 82 Born on January 5, 1927 in Saltville, VA Went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2009 at Valley Health Care in Chilhowie,VA Mr. Everhart was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Oakley Everhart and brothers and sisters, Drucilla Arnold, Edna Dye, James Everhart, Clarence Everhart, Juanita Brown, Clifford Everhart, and Robert Everhart. Mr. Everhart was a member of Glade Community First Church of God, a founding member and past President of the Tri-Cities New Voice Club, as past Chairman for the American Cancer Society of Smyth County, received the honor of Handicapped Person of the Year, a Veteran of the U. S. Navy, and retired from Olin Chemical Corporation after 25 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors: Wife of 62 years - Pauline B. Everhart Daughters - Sharon & Bill Cahill and Robin & Preston Brickey Grandsons - Gene &Maria Cahill, Charles & Cara Cahill, Carl Preston Brickey and Alex Michael Brickey Special Niece - Peggy & George Farris Sister - Oakie Keen Eight great-grandchildren - Elise, James, Olivia, Ansley, Jac, Will, Sophia and Maggie Cahill Several Nieces and Nephews Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday December 7, 2009 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Little & Rev. Bill Konstantopoulas officiating. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening prior to the service. The family would like to thank the 5th Floor Staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital and the 1st Floor Staff at Valley Health Care for their loving care of Mr. Everhart and family. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City Oklahoma 73123-1718, Glade Community First Church of God, P.O.
