Clyde Bennett a native of Kansas, was born Dec. 27, 1908 and died June 21, 1979. He served overseas in World War II. On Cot. 25, 1947 he was married to Sylvia Osness, formerly of Britton.
He worked with the Water Resources Department for the State of California for 20 years. He retired in 1974. They had lived in Orangevale, Calif. for 25 years.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons; Jerry, Fullerton, Calif. and Clark, Elk Grove, Calif. and three grandchildren.
Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. John W. Symens, Claremont; Mr. and Mrs. John Lamberton, Langford; Mr. and mrs. John Hewling and Kathy, Covina, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Castle, Smith River, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Castle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Castle and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Castle, all of the Sacramento area.
Mrs. John Symens (Edith), Claremont, Mrs. John Lamberton (Ruby), Langford, Mrs. John Hewling (Dorothy) Covina, Calif. and mrs. Arthur Weier, Amherst are all sisters of Mrs. Bennett, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett have often visited in the Britton area and have many acquaintances here.
