Mrs Jacob Heckaman, eighty years old, a lifelong resident of the community southeast of Bremen, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Edler, in Etna Green Friday morning. She had been in ill health since October, when she was taken to the Edler home for care and treatment.

Mrs Heckaman's maiden name was Matilda E Becknell. She was a daughter of Henry and Saivina Becknell and was born in Scott township, Kosciusko county, October 30, 1858.

On May 13, 1877, she was united in marriage with Jacob Heckaman, who preceded her in death on January 6, 1931. She was a member of the County Line Evangelical church.

Surviving relatives are seven sons, Samuel G Heckaman, Stephen A Heckaman, Walter R Heckaman, Arthur M Heckaman and William E Heckaman of Bremen, James H Heckaman of Milford and Schuyler C Heckaman of Hampshire, Texas; six daughters, Mrs Elva Hepler, Mrs Mabel Huff, Mrs Hazel Wilson aud Miss Goldie Heckaman of Bremen, Mrs Fairy Deisch of Bourbon and Mrs Vida Edler of Etna Green; one brother, Edward Becknell of Minerva, Ohio. There are fifty-five grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.

One son died in infancy.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two oclock at Salem Evangelical church in Bremen Rev C W Schlemmer, pastor of the County Line church, officiated in the service and burial was in the Bremen cemetery.
