J.P. BALES IS DEAD AT HOME IN RALEIGH
AGED RESIDENT, BORN IN NORTH CAROLINA, HAD LIVED IN COUNTY 63 YEARS
FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD SATURDAY
J. P. Bales, age 87 years, died at his home in Raleigh Thursday evening at 7:15 o'clock. He had been in ill health for some time and a complication of diseases and was the cause of his death. He was born in Jamestown, North Carolina, but had resided for the past sixty-three years in Raleigh.
His wife and one son preceded him in death and he is survived by four children, C. B. Bales of Richmond, Mrs. Josie Johnson of Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Ruby Saxon of Fayette county and Mrs. Bess Miller who lived at home; one brother, Monroe Bales of Mt. Auburn, Ind.; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the late residence Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Bills of Lewisville in charge. Interment will be made in the Raleigh cemetery. "
