Obituary
Joseph Eli Charron, 82, longtime hop farmer of Toppenish, passed away at Toppenish Community Hospital on Tuesday, January 24, 2012.
Joe was born March 12, 1929 to Leon and Alphonsine (Lenseigne) Charron as one of nine children who worked and played together on their family's hop farm in Moxee. Jose also attended school in Moxee.
Joe married Rosalie White on December 31, 1949 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Yakima, WA. They moved to Toppenish where they raised their children Kathleen, Joey and Johnny. He was a motorcycle and snowmobile enthusiast. Joe also loved his dogs.
Joe is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ken and Kathleen Herber; son Joey Charron; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Nancy Charron; a sister, Della Sanford and five grandchildren: Keith Charron, Dustin Herber, Rachael Herber, Monica Charron and Lisa Charron. He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Alphonsine Charron, three brothers Leon Loranger, Edgar Charron and Sebastian Charron; and four sisters, Aileen Desmarais, Theresa Menard, Annette Lamoureux, and Doris Brulotte.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe's name may be made to the Humane Society Shelter, 2405 W. Birchfield Rd., Yakima, WA 98901 or c/o Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA 98902.
