Anthony Saveri, Sr., 84, of Roseto and formerly of Bangor passed away Wednesday, April 28 in Manor Care of Easton. Born: July 6, 1925 in Martins Creek, PA he was a son of the late Olivo and Francesca Paolaletti Saveri. Personal: His beloved wife, the former Marie Diorio passed away in 1997. Anthony worked from 1970 to 1991 at the Water Waste Treatment Plant of Bangor and prior to that was a Chemist at the former Alpha Portland Cement Co. of Martins Creek, PA. He was a veteran of the Navy Air Corp during World War II. He was very active in local Boy Scouts serving as Cub Master, Scout Master and Asst. Scout Master for Troop 36 of Roseto for many years. Memberships: He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto, PA. He was a member of the Martocci-Capobianco American Legion Post 750 of Roseto. Survivors: He is survived by a daughter, Debra Donate of FL; two sons, Anthony Saveri, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Kunkletown, and Olivo Saveri of Roseto; grandchildren, James Donato, Jr and Larissa Saveri; and a great-grandchild, Jordan Donato; three sisters, Gloria Karner of Nazareth, Clementina Figlioli of Bangor and Lorraine O'Donnell of Palmer Township; and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Dorothy Ann and two sisters, Eva LaPardo and Della O'Donnell and a brother, David died earlier. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Third & Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. Call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, 230 Market Street, Bangor. Military Entombment Services will be in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in the New Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Roseto. Memorials: Memorial donations may be offered in Anthony's name to the church, P.O. Box 422, Roseto, PA 18013.
