Born in Markham, Va., she was a daughter of the late Ernest Kenton Phillips and Annie Fray Strother Phillips.
She was a graduate of Marshall High School, Marshall, Va., Class of 1927, and was employed by Southern Railway until her marriage in 1936.
Mrs. Woolsey joined Eau Claire Baptist Church in 1956 where she remained a faithful member of the church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was an active volunteer in civic and social projects, especially at the S.C. State Hospital.
Her pine straw baskets won various ribbons at the S.C. State Fair. For the past 2 ½ years, Mrs. Woolsey resided at Agape Senior Community in West Columbia.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Woolsey was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Phillips and two sisters, Margaret Harris and Ann Toney.
