Carrie was born Carlilie Llewellyn, daughter of the late Charles E. Lewin, and Mary Ann Hawn of Woodstock Ontario. Carrie died at the age of 56 in Swan River, leaving her husband, George Rowe, and daughters; Mabel, Myrtle, Ethel, and Wynona.

George and Carrie [neé Lewellyn], homesteaded in the Floradale school district when they came to Manitoba in the early 1900`s. There were 4 girls in the family. Myrtle married Jack Abraham of Minitonas around 1910. About the same time as Mabel married Fred Rose. Mrs. Rowe (edit) died in 1923.
Ethel married Keith Morrison in Vancouver. After they moved to Vancouver also. Yvona married Arnold McLean of Vancouver. The Rowe family moved into Swan River around 1915 along with Jack and Myrtle Abraham. They built their homes on 10th Avenue close to the Fred Rose house on 9th Avenue. They were across the road from the fair grounds bandstand at that time.
