Alonzo DeVer Coombs was born April 2nd 1912 In Ft. Green Utah Sanpete County to Wilford Henry Coombs and Ellen Janet Crowther Coombs. He is the second of eleven children. His siblings are Virgil Wilford Coombs, Morris William Coombs, Elwood Joshua Coombs, Ellen Valeria Coombs Parkin, Ione Coombs Taylor Anderson, Dwain Coombs, Rena Inez Coombs, Ken Crowther Coombs, Bess Coombs Nessen, Arleen Coombs Allred.

Dee grew up in Ft. Green along with his siblings on the family farm. They raised mainly sheep for a living.

Dee married Ila Peterson Coombs on January 20th 1936. Together they had two daughters Cindy Coombs and Ellen Coombs Shaw. They lived in Lark for ninteen years then they moved to Midvale Utah.

Dee worked at the Jordan River Temple for twenty years. He passed away on April 15th 2003 in Midvale. He was 91 years old at the time.
