Chuck was the son of William Charles Pool and Eula Gober Berry Pool. He was born in Big Springs, Texas. He had two brothers (Bob and Don) and two sisters (Cora and Wesley).
He was married to Joyce Muriel King on October 5, 1941 in Clark County, Nevada.
While living in Venice, California, Chuck worked as a Painter for North American Aircraft Corporation in Inglewood.
During World War II, he enlisted in Los Angeles, California and served in the Navy on the USS Dorsey and the USS Intrepid. According to the muster logs, Charles boarded the USS Dorsey as a Seaman 1st Class on August 17, 1944 and left the ship on December 8, 1944. They were in Seeadler Harbor, Admirality Islands, Papua New Guinea when he was transferred off the ship. After he left the USS Dorsey he changed rates to Carpenter's Mate, 3rd Class.
He later worked at Rohr Aircraft in Riverside, California. He then moved to Sacramento, California.
