Mary (Polly) Prose was born c1812. Her parents were Jacob Prose and Elizabeth Englis. Polly married Ervin Green on 28 Jan 1827 in Gallia Co., OH. She died between 1844 and 1846, after the birth of daughter Elizabeth, in Gallia County and is presumed to be buried in the Salem Baptist Cemetery where other relatives are buried, although there is no tombstone.
The obituary of her husband, Ervin Green, states on the 27th of January, 1827, he was married to Miss Polly Prose. They lived happily together on a farm near Gallipolis for about 19 years when his wife died. Eleven children had been born to them, nine of whom were living at her death.
