Louis Charles 'Charlie' McDaniel, Jr was born on November 17, 1926 in Anna, IL, a son to Louis and Meva (Smith) McDaniel. On November 5, 1950, he married Gayle Cleland in Cutler, IL and she survives.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gayle McDaniel; three children, Lynne (Paul) Jones, Bret (Jane) McDanie and Neal (Bridget) McDaniel; four grandchildren, Derick (Stacey) Jones, Colin Jones, Keri McDaniel, and Chad McDaniel; a brother, Bob (Avis) McDaniel; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for over 40 years as a telegrapher, agent/operator and customer service representative working most of those years in Pinckneyville, IL. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the Masonic Lodge, Pinckneyville, IL, Mitchell Lodge #85. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, boating, water skiing but he especially loved taking care of his grandchildren.
