Charles Edwards, son of J. J. and Julia Burton Edwards, was born May 15, 1866, near Loami, and has lived in this vicinity all his life.
Mr. Edwards had never married, and was making his home with a sister, Mrs. McNew, at Loami, at the time of his death.
He passed away at St. John's hospital in Springfield, Sunday, March 30, 1930, was a tubercular infection of the throat, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 15 days.
He is survived by one brother, O. E. Edwards of Downers Grove, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet McNew of Loami, and Mrs. Allen Hiler of Waverly; also a number of nephews an nieces.
Funeral services were held at Swift's Undertaking parlors, in this city, Tuesday morning, April 1, at 10:30, in charge of Rev. T. H. Ballarby, pastor of the M.E. Church, South.
Burial was in Waverly cemetery.
