Anders Jönsson Norin (1798-1885) was born June 28, 1798 in the village of Korpåsen, Hassela parish in Hälsingland, Sweden. Anders was the firstborn child of Jöns Jonsson and Anna Andersdotter.

Anders was a miller in Kölfors, Hassela and married Brita Persdotter on June 25, 1820 in Torp, Medelpad at the age of 21. Anders had seven children with his first wife, Brita Persdotter, who died in 1835.

Anders married Karin Christoffersdotter Norberg on March 21, 1840 at the age of 32. Anders and Karin became husmansfolk in Bäckaräng and had three more children. Their son Anders Andersson Norin (born November 30, 1840) immigrated to America in 1866 with his newly wedded wife, Karin Johansdotter, and settled in Isanti County, Minnesota. On April 9, 1868 Karin and her husband, Anders Jönsson Norin, and their two daughters, Juliana (Julia) Andersdotter Oswell (born November 29, 1852) and Helena Lena Andersdotter (born February 9, 1850) immigrated to America. They also settled in Isanti County near the town of Blomford. Anders' children from his first marriage remained in Sweden.

Karin and Anders lived with their son Anders Andersson Norin and his family. Their son, Anders, changed his name to Andrew Norin. It is believed that Anders' wife, Karin, died in Isanti County in 1885 at the age of 78, although there is no death record for her with Isanti County. It was presumed that she was buried on the family farm, along with her husband, near the small town of Blomford. Anders died May 21, 1885 from consumption (tuberculosis). It was presumed that he was also buried on the family farm near Blomford. However, there is a good chance that both Karin and her husband, Anders, may have been buried in unmarked graves at the Big Meadow Cemetery, which is a small neighborhood cemetery about a quarter mile from where they lived. Their daughter Helena Oman and her husband are buried in the Big Meadow Cemetery. In the Isanti County death record, Anders Jönsson Norin's occupation was listed as a blacksmith.
