ELMWOOD - Edwin O. Burns, 83, of Peoria, formerly of Elmwood, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born March 6, 1917, in Princeville to Forrest Winfred and Iva Barrett Burns, he married Nelle Manock on March 11, 1939, in East Peoria. She died June 29, 1998.
He also was preceded in death by two sons, James and Jerry; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Jack of East Peoria; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Duane and Dean, both of Peoria, and Alvin of Georgetown, Texas.
He lived in the Elmwood area for 58 years, where he farmed for many years. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 17 years before retiring.
