Geil. --- Annie R., daughter of the late N. W. and Catherine (Neff) Beery, was born at Edom, Va., Oct. 12, 1866; passed away at her home near Broadway, Va., March 6, 1950; aged 83 y. 4 m. 24 d. On Dec. 8, 1885, she was united in marriage to Joseph W. Geil, who preceded her in death in December, 1945. Two sons (Edwin and Paul) and one grandson also predeceased her. Surviving are 4 children (N. Wilmer, Arthur D., Anna E., at home; Kitty-Mrs. S. A. Shank, Linville, Va.), 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters (Mrs. S. L. Hoover, Harrisonburg, Va.; and Mrs. D. A. Swank, Edom, Va.), and a number of nieces and nephews. A faithful and lifelong number of the Mennonite Church, she was always glad for an opportunity to serve her Lord in any way she could, especially in helping the needy. She was concerned for the unsaved and was devoted to her family. Funeral services were held March 8 at her home and at the Lindale Mennonite Church by John L. Stauffer and Timothy Showalter. Text: Rev. 21: 3, 4. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
