Evon (Evone) was born in Princeton, Mille Lacs Co., Minnesota on February 24, 1902 to Lewis Liskey and Jennie Turner-Leskey, both of her parents were born in Wisconsin. She was the youngest of a large family.

On Oct 24, 1923 she married Alfred Jennie in Chicago County, Minnesota. She was a housewife and mother.

Evone was hospitalized for T B at the Middle River sanitarium at Hawthorne, Douglas Co., Wisconsin. She was survived by her husband, Alfred Jennie and 2 children, Lucille, LaVoile, her son Allen had recently passed away from a lightning strike.

Son, LaVoile Jennie death record shows he died in 1990, no place of burial is listed.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jenie.

Evon Liske, Mrs. Alfred Jenie, was born at Princeton, Minnesota on February 24, 1904 (DC 1902). She passed away at the Middle River sanitarium at Hawthorne on Wednesday September 27,1944. She was united in marriage to Alfred Jenie on October 24, 1923 at Forest Lake, Minnesota. They made their home at Frederick (WI) for five years and then moved to Siren (WI) which had since been her home.


She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Lucille and son Lavoile, four brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Jenie has been a patient at the sanitarium for a number of years.


Funeral services were conducted at the Hanson chapel at Siren Friday afternoon with Rev. Robert Spencer officiating. Interment at Siren cemetery. Songs were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Branstad of Frederic. Pallbearers were Robert Rudisell, Harry Rudisell, August Lindbeck, John Radke, Guy Cleveland and a friend of the family from Michigan.


The Jenie family had a double sorrow as last week they buried Allen, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jenie who was killed by lightning.
