Walter J. Barr, 80, of Decatur died at 8:41 am on Tuesday (January 11, 2005) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Walter was born in Beecher City on August 26, 1924 the son of Noah S. and Edna V. Light Barr. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He later worked for Sattley's Office Supply as a Salesman. He was a past commander of the American Legion, he was a member of the Decatur, Elk's. He married Sarah Bastob on December 24, 1953 in Decatur, she survives.

Also surviving include his son, Walter G. Barr and wife Joni of Roswell, NM; four grandchildren, Kristen, Laine, Shannon and Fallon; his four brothers, Darcy Barr, Cecil Barr, Dewy Barr and Kenny Barr. Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
