Spouse: Byron Albert Maker (1872-1953)
From her obituary in the North Pacific Union Gleaner, 1 June 1922, p. 7:
"Maker.—Serphina Barr was born May 23, 1876 at Hanover, Washington Co., Kansas"; and died May 15, 1922 at Hopewell, Oregon. At the age of sixteen Sister Maker became a Christian accepting the doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventists. She was married to Byron A. Maker Nov. 9, 1898. To this union were born three children, Franklin Waldo, aged nineteen, Gloria May aged seventeen and Victor Manuel aged fourteen. Besides the bereaved husband and children she leaves to mourn two sisters and a host of friends. Sister Maker was born and reared in Hanover Kansas and after her marriage moved with her husband to Oklahoma where they lived until about two years ago when they came to Hopewell, Oregon where they have since resided. No testimony could be esteemed higher than that given by a lifelong friend which was that her life had been an open book. A short time before her death she stated that she was ready to go and the many friends and relatives who knew her godly and consistent life know that this was true. We laid her to rest at Hopewell, Oregon, comforted with the knowledge that the Father noweth best and in His allwise providence has called her aside to rest awhile until He shall come and call her forth to blissful activity in the earth made new.
