Halicy Caffee, 93, Taylor Avenue, Campbellsville, son of the late William F. Caffee and Myrtle Cave Caffee, was born in Taylor County June 29, 1893. He died at 10:22 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 1987, at the Taylor County Hospital after an illness. He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. He was a retired furniture maker and painter and a veteran of World War I, having served in the United States Army. He united in marriage to Irene Benningfield Dec. 21, 1921. To this union one son and one daughter were born. Marjorie Greer preceded her father in death Nov. 9, 1977. Surviving is Ray Caffee, Campbellsville. He is also survived by three granddaughters and one grandson, Sharon Reynolds, Lexington; Deborah Taylor, Bowling Green; Judy Black, Louisville; and David Greer, Memphis, Tenn.; two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons, Todd Reynolds and Jeffrey Reynolds, both of Lexington; and Amy Greer and Kelly Greer, both of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Hershel Caffee, Campbellsville; several other relatives and many friends. The funeral was at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 29, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Mike Moynahan and the Rev. Ron Ferree. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
