LA CROSSE — Pius Moeder, 84, La Crosse, died Sunday at the Hadley Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Born March 27, 1886, in Odin, he married Mary C. Steiner, April 5, 1910. She died in 1947, Moeder was a retired farmer and lived most of his life here.

He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse. He was named an honorary lifetime member of the Knight of Columbus — a special tribute awarded to few.

Survivors include three sons, William and Thomas, both of La Crosse, and Rudolph, of Wichita; two daughters, Sister Mary Scholastica, Enid, Okla. and Miss Monica Moeder, Wichita; one brother August, Concordia; three sisters, Sr. Mary Monica and Sr. Mary Borromeo, both of Wichita, and Mrs Rose Schmeweis, Salina; 27 grandchildren and Rose Schmeweis, Salina; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St Michael's Catholic Church, La Crosse. Fr. George McLaughlin will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal. Hover Funeral Home LaCrosse in charge of arrangements.
