Obituary: "Harriet Ellen Odell, daughter of John and Hannah Zimmerman was born in Wayne Co., Ohio Feb 8, 1833. Died at her home in Delta, Jun 18, 1917. She came to this community with her parents when still a mere child and has ever since made this her home. In 1852 Feb 28, she was married to Dr. Jno. Odell of Rochester, Ohio. Three children were born: Mrs. Geo. Planson of Delta, Jno. L. Odell of Chicago, and Ida who died in younger years. Lydia Gilbert her sister and only member of the family of twelve remains today, the others one by one have heard the call and entered the land of mystery. Mrs. Odell was the senior member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Delta, having united with the same under the pastorate of Adam C. Barnes, July 28 1867. Her membership lacked but one month and one week of rounding out a full half century. She dearly loved the church. It was her favorite theme. Faithful in life triumphant in death she receives her crown of reward.

Card of Thanks - We desire to thank all of our friends for flowers, deeds of kindness for the singing and sympathetic sermon, all during the illness and burial of our mother. Mrs. Geo. F. Planson." ("Delta Atlas" Jun 28, 1917, p 1)
