At the age of 15 years he came with his parents to Iowa, locating on the farm, of which is now the town of Bussey, where he grew to manhood. March 2 1876 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Ayres and to this union were born seven children, five of which still survive him, two daughters having preceded him in death. The surviving children are: Frank Bussey, of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Belle Carmin, of Cedar Bluffs, Kansas; Mrs. Maybelle Carr, Walter and Don, of Bussey. In addition to his children, he leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, several grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers, Mrs. Mary A. Littler, of Bethel, Missouri; Mrs. Belle A. Cole, of Oskaloosa; Mrs. Louisa McClure, E.L., J.A., and A.C. Bussey, of Bussey, and a host of friends. He was always of a quiet disposition, tender hearted, and a kind and effectionate husband and father. It can be said of him so far as known he had no enemies.
The funeral services were held at the M.P. church, Thursday afternoon, at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.C. Leonard. The remains were interred in the Bussey cemetery.
