SPRINGFIELD - Mary E. Flamm, 97, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born on 10/03/1915 to Albert and Ethel Abbott in Kane, Illinois. At the age of 51 she returned to school and earned her LPN licensed and worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Melody S. Capistrano of Springfield and her two sons Robert A. Flamm of Jerseyville and David L. Flamm of Tecumseh, Missouri. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mary is proceeded in death by her parents and her four brothers, Aiden, Ethelbert, Ernest "Benny" Abbott and infant brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 1/5/2013 2:00 p.m. at the Crawford Holden Funeral Home in Jerseyville, IL. There will be one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at the Kane Cemetery.
