John Reynolds was born in Seward County, Nebraska, thirty-five years ago and had spent the most of his life in this vicinity where he had many friends who knew him as an agreeable and pleasant companion and all regret his early passing, just in the prime of young manhood, when all seemed bright and beautiful.
He became ill and was taken to the Everett sanitarium at Lincoln where, after a long illness he passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 1916. The remains were shipped to Ulysses and were taken to the Nihil home where they lay in state until Thursday morning. deceased leaves three brothers to mourn his loss, Thomas of Lincoln, James of Moorefield, and Daniel of Staplehurst, all of whom were present at the funeral services which were held at the St. Mary's Church at Ulysses Thursday morning, March 23. The services were conducted by Rev. Father Loughran who celebrated a requiem high mass for the repose of his soul. Many old friends and early boyhood neighbors of deceased were present at the services and extend heartfeld sympathy to the surviving brothers and other relatives. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery near town.
"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon him."
