Marjorie was the daughter of Edward Lewis Yager and Harriet Cynthia Niles. Like many people born in 1899, Marjorie always said she was born in 1900. Her brother, Clifford, even put "1900" on her gravestone. Marjorie never married. She worked as a governess and as a practical nurse. She worked for the "Savage" family in Minneapolis, MN for a while (they owned "Dan Patch" the famous harness racing horse), and spent many years with the "Manning" family in Evanston, IL.
