Services for Rudolph Masters, 83, of Jacksonville, will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel, with Robby Arrington officiating, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial will be at Jarratt Cemetery.

Mr. Masters died Jan. 12, 2006, in Jacksonville. He was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Grapeland, Texas.

Mr. Masters was a retired security guard and a member of the Church of Christ in Rusk. He was an Army Veteran, serving in World War II in the Pacific, and was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and several other accolades. He was active in church and a member of a 42 group.

Mr. Masters was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Masters of Jacksonville; son, Reed Masters of Odessa; daughter and son-in-law, Danita and Gary Alfred of Bullard; grandchildren, Lisa Armstrong and husband Travis, Monte Masters and wife Julee, Jared Alfred and Brooke Alfred; great-grandchildren Brance Armstrong, Bailey Armstrong, Abbey Masters, Brett Masters and Chad Masters.

Pallbearers will be Gary Alfred, Jared Alfred, Monte Masters, Travis Armstrong, Benny Masters and Del Masters. Honorary pallbearers include members of his 42 group.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home.
