Andrew J. Chupp, age 93, of Nappanee, died at 6:50 am, Monday, December 31, 2012 at his residence unexpectedly of natural causes. He was born February 27, 1919 in Kansas to Joseph C.S. and Amanda (Detweiler) Chupp. He lived most of his life in Indiana and moved to Nappanee in 1944. He married Clara Slabaugh December 30, 1947 in Nappanee. She preceded in death May 12, 1994.

Mr. Chupp was a retired factory worker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are sons, Eldon Chupp, Alvin Chupp, both of Milford, Joseph (Sue) Chupp, Elkhart; daughters, Carol (Charles) Westerman, North Webster, Fannie Mae (Mervin) Miller, Katherine (Steven) Miller, both of Goshen, Ina (Vernon) Bontrager, Nakomis, FL, Wilma (Lynn) Hively, Treva Chupp, both of Nappanee, Erma (Bob) Stevens, Sarasota, FL; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brothers, John (Esther) Chupp, Nappanee and Harvey (Nancy) Chupp, Eden Prairie, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a grandson, brothers, Ray, Joe, Rudy, Sam, and Bill Chupp and sisters, Mary Gingerich, Elizabeth Schrock, Anna Miller, and Lydia Garber.

Family and friends may call after 2 Thursday at the Darryl Hochstetler residence (13991 N 700 W, Nappanee), where funeral services will be at 9:30 am, Friday, January 4, 2013. Bishop Howard Schwartz and the Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
