Ore Arthur (Peewee) Krieger, 82, of rural Adams died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born June 23, 1919 in Hooker, he was the son of Bert Edward and Lena Maude Arters Krieger. Hooker is where he grew up and attended school. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor.

On Sept. 25, 1951, he was married to Loretta Gordon in Hooker. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Peewee was a farmer all his life, but worked for Beaver County for eight years before retiring in 1981. After retirement he farmed for Leon and Joan Chuesburg until his illness in 2001. He often helped many farmers in the district.

Survivors include his loving wife, Loretta of the home; five daughters, LaQuetta Krieger of Liberal, KS, Lori-Anne and Gerald Baier of Turpin, Deanna and Raymond Applebee of Turpin, Sabrina Krieger of Liberal, KS and Lynn and Terry Overton of Turpin; his son, Arthur Krieger of Turpin; a granddaughter he helped raise, Heather Burns of Turpin along with 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren plus many more family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the Church of Christ in Hooker with Mr. John Maynard officiating.
