She died at the home of Mike & Tonia Ward. She was the daughter of the James Lee and Leety Jane Roberts (1888-1972). She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years Cassie Ward (1918-1990) whom she married on May 22, 1937 in McDowell County, WV, her precious son: David Darrell Ward Sr. (1948-2013); 4 brothers: Troy Lee, Homer Lee, Tom Lee and Wayne Lee; 6 sisters: Bertha Gibson, Grace Murphy, Mabel “Ethel” Gertrude Coe (1924-1976), Bessie McNew, Corby Brown and Gladys Lee. Virginia was a veteran of the United States Army and World War II. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of the Church of God. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Virginia and to mourn her passing included her 2 sons: Paul (Eula) Ward of Jackson Ohio and Michael (Tonia) Ward of Man; daughter-in-law: Linda Ward of Gilbert; grandchildren: April (Ronnie) Mounts of Gilbert, David (Brittany) Ward II of Justice, Michelle (Chris) Short of Columbia, SC, Angela (David) Sparks of Justice, Jamie Ward of Jackson, Ohio and Michael (Tabitha) Ward of Man; 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.
