Born in Henderson Township on September 4, 1884, he was a son of Matthew E. and Mary Ann (Bergantz) McCall. He was united in marriage to Mildred Black on October 30, 1920, in the Presbyterian Church at Huntingdon by the Rev. Mr. Daubenspeck.
His wife survives, along with these children: Mrs. Elizabeth Rupert, Huntingdon R.D.2; John S. McCall, Elizabethtown; R. Lynn McCall, Havertown and Clair E. McCall, Mapleton Depot R.D. There are 14 grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Miss Sarah McCall of Huntingdon. Two brothers, Wallace and Leslie preceded him in death.
The deceased was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Henderson Township. He had worked as a farmer for 47 years on the Stone Creek Ridge.
McCall had served as a supervisor for Henderson Township. He was a former member of the Henderson Township School Board, served as superintendent of the Mount Zion Lutheran Church Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Mount Zion Lutheran Church Council.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 28, at 2 p.m. from the Peters funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Paul Kane, his pastor, will officiate and interment will be made in Mount Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Huntingdon R.D.3.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and until the hour of the services on Tuesday.
