Mary is said by family to have been pregnant when she died. She suffered an acute gastric hemorrhage due to a stomach ulcer, which ultimately led to the death of both mother and unborn baby. It is unclear whether or not the baby was ever actually born, since there is no record of a birth / death certificate for the child, and Mary's death certificate makes no mention of a pregnancy. Family nevertheless states that Mary was buried with the unnamed baby.
