Mrs. Catherine Johnson Lewis, age 73, of 2170 Mills Lindsey School Road in Warthen died Thursday, October 18, 2012, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 22nd, in the Union Baptist Church near Warthen. Rev. Danny Thomas and Rev. Roy Smith will officiate with burial in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Waters, Ron Waters, Larry Smith, William Smith, Timothy Jackson, Scott Reese, Johnny Osborne and Patrick Wilkerson.

Mrs. Lewis was a native of Hancock County, the daughter of the late Arthur Johnson and the late Edna Carr Johnson. She was the wife of the late Eugene Wilson Lewis and was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Wilson Lewis, and her grandchildren, William Freeman "Will" Peeler and Charlie Lynn Smith. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and a member of the Union Baptist Church.

Survivors are: her children, Danny Lewis and his wife Cheryl of Sandersville, Regina Jackson and her husband Timmy of Louisville, Sherry Lewis Peeler of Warthen, Karen Smith and her husband Charles of Tennille, Kerry Lewis of Warthen and Brian Lewis and his wife Mechelle of Bartow; grandchildren, Daniel Clements, Adam Clements, Timothy Jackson, T. J. Jackson, Taylor Jackson, Missy Smith, Pam Reese, Ricky Smith, Austin Smith, Lynne Smith Dalton Davis, Cheyenne Dutton and Brandon Yates; great-grandchildren, Errin Reese, Preston Reese, Logan Clements, Landen Clements, McKinzey Clements, Luke Jackson and Jack Jackson; four sisters, Tinie Newby of Dublin, Carolyn Johns and her husband Bobby of Milledgeville, Linda Floyd of Milledgeville and Brenda McCannon of Lexington; a brother, Wilbert Johnson of Sparta; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Lewis of Tennille and Marie (Franklin) Waters of Warthen; and a brother-in-law, Aubrey Neal of Milledgeville.
