Abraham Funk, Jr.

Abraham Funk, Jr. was the 8th child of Abraham Funk, Sr. and Susannah Stoner (Steiner). Elizabeth, John, Annica (Ann), Isaac, Mary Ann, Jacob Stoner and Daniel Buckley had all been born before the arrival of Abraham Jr. on Nov. 9, 1821. However, several of the children did not live long enough to see Abraham Jr.

The family moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio before Abraham reached his 4th birthday. Other children joined the family: namely Jesse, Solomon, Joshua, Mary and David. Jesse and Joshua did not live to see their first birthdays. The family moved to Adams County, Illinois (probably between 1833 and 1837).

Abraham Funk, Jr. married Lucy Ann Farmer on March 27, 1842. Their marriage is recorded in Pike County, IL. Abraham Funk, Sr. died on June 5, 1845 in Adams County, IL. His wife, Susannah, stayed with her children in the area and was listed on the 1860 census with Abraham and Lucy Funk's family. She died while in Liberty, IL and is buried in Mound Prairie Cemetery in Adams County, Beverly, IL.

Abraham owned 230 acres of land in Beverly, IL all paid for and built a granery on it.
