Mozelle LaVerne Adkins, 93, of Elm Mott, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012, at her residence. Services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Elm Mott Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Bodenhamer officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, at Bellmead Funeral Home.

Mozelle was born in Penelope, Texas, to the late Gilbert Briscoe and Lillie Page Blount. She married Walter Shurette Adkins on Dec. 21, 1937, in Mt. Calm. Mozelle retired from Connally Independent School District in 1987 after 17 years of service. She was member of Elm Mott Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for the two and three years old children.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999: two brothers; and grandson, Mark Adkins.

Survivors includes her sons, Eugene Adkins and wife, Jean, of Chambersville, Pa., Charles Adkins, of North Carolina, Jimmy Adkins, of Elm Mott, and Keith Adkins and wife, Linda, of Waco; daughter, Kay Miller and husband, Arvil, of Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
