Welton M. "Buddy" Stansell Sr., 79, a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, passed away Jan. 21, 2014, at ECM Hospital after an extended illness. He was a member of the Church of Christ, owner and operator of Buddy Stansell's Electric Company, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be today from noon-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Sonny Owens officiating. Interment is private.
Mr. Stansell was preceded in death by his wife, June Stansell; son, Welton M. "Monty" Stansell Jr.; parents, Willie Alfred and Sarah Jewel Coker Stansell; and four sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela June Mason (Bucky), of Belton, Texas; sister, Faye Predmore, of Florence; grandchildren, Kimberly Renee Mason, of Texas, and Kendall Leigh Stansell, of Florence; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn and Ema Nicole Simons, of Texas.
